These are three examples of iStopMotion. They all use a different style but are all very good in their own ways. I especially like the first example "Zero". It is a very good iStopMotion. The animation is extremely smooth and it took 2 and a half years to create the 12minute animation. Each style of iStopMotion is very different but they are all created in the same way, by taking photos and making small changes in each frame to create the illusion of movement. I can't wait to get started on my animation!

iStopMotion Definition

iStopMotion is a series of images taken that are played back at you at a high speed. This then creates the illusion of movement. There are small differences between each frame, creating the movement you see in movies/animations.

This is the iStop motion I made in class with Julian and Georgina. We were told to animate anything we had as we were just playing around with istop motion. So we decided to animate my pencil case. We made the pens escape, then the headphones came in and closed the pencil case. We then had the pens come back to the zipped up pencil case, but the pencil case left and then the pens did as well. It isn't the best animation as we didn't have much time to do it in. There were also a few frames where our hands were in it but that can be fixed and managed better in the real animation that I make. I was the mover and Julian was the picture taker. Georgina came in late from the dentist so she joined out group and helped with the end of the animation. We moved everything a little bit each frame and Julian took a picture, which then played back and created the illusion of movement. We had a lot of fun making this and I look forward to making my own animation!

Examples of Animation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVovQfq7U0w - This is an example of full animation. Any Disney movie is a good example of full animation as everything is moving, not just certain parts of the body or one person.

Angryalien.com has a lot of good examples of limited animation. They turn popular movies into animations with the characters as rabbits instead of humans. It is limited animation because a lot of the time, only the arms and mouths of the characters are moving.
